Oliver getting excited explaning about 'Love & Lust' during True love waits

I just love Korean... food.

Our leftovers

Here is how it started, last Sunday after church the 14 of us went for Korean food. I am someone who will definitely will say YES! to Korean Food, anytime.. side effects after watching the Korean drama, "My Girl". I have 2 favorite food (at the moment) which are Korean and Italian.

We headed to the korean village opposite of Ampang Point. Since there were so many available restaurants, I suggested to goto 'Nak Won'

JR: hmm..This box looks interesting.. what does it do?
Jeremy: Whoa.. a camera!

And so we ordered. I especially was excited over the Kimchi soup and barbeque! I just love the sour soup. wah mouth watering just thinking of the red soup... imagine this

I wouldnt mind having one now.. yum

And so we ordered our favorite food

Thats mine!

And so we waited..

and waited..

Hungry la

I know that this pic isnt taken during the wait, but i look drunk, dont i? but looks like there are 2 more drunk guys behind

Side dishes

We were the noisiest in the restaurant (whats new?) and obviously with people like us around, no place can ever be quiet.

While eating, we already started planning for the next "makan". Tomorrow, we'll be having poolside BBQ at my place. I will be preparing the drinks and marinating the lamb. WARNING: Be sure to have a strong stomach. Muahaha.

Jogoya. The experience

I've always heard about how nice Jogoya is, how wide the buffet spread is, and how big the oysters are, and much more. From what I know, Jogoya is the best place for Japanese buffet and its posh. Its in Starhill. And of course, the price is RM106 a person.

On Monday, the few of us met up to go to Jogoya. Kam Fwei, Nicholas, Daniel Loo, Angeline and me. We paid up and went in. I can tell you that I was highly amazed at the interior decor. It was dimmed and.. (use ur imagination la)

So we started helping ourselves with the food. Unlimited Salmon, Oysters are among all the japanese food u can imagine. There are also pasta, steamed fish (chinese style) deep fried soft shell crabs, Tempura, bamboo lala, Fried salmon, prawns, Lamb chop, Haagen daaz and Baskin -Robbins ice cream and many more. It makes me feel as tho Im a kid in a candy store! By the way, I forgot to mention that Daniel Loo brought his VIP card which entitled us for VIP dishes like Cheese Lobster (everyone's favourite), King prawn, Spring chicken (Excellent! crispy and succulent) and i forgot what are the others already. Not so important la cos the main thing we took was the Cheese Lobster.

Cheesy Lobster

Among the other dishes we took are also these.

Donno which joker took this sotong. Take somemore didnt eat. End up didnt finish

Steamed fish. One of the popular dish among us. IT was so good, whenever this dish reach our table, we all fight for it

Actually to be honest la, I was so engrossed eating that it didnt occur to me to take pics of them. Haha.

While we were eating, suddenly out of no where, Angeline heard a familiar voice from behind, we all turned and saw Fook Sim! The fella initially said he couldn't make it. It was a pleasant surprise to see him. Then the conversation went like this

Me : Eh you paid already ah? We have VIP card here.
Fook sim : *grin* Havent paid yet.
Angeline: Hah? They wouldn't have let u in if u didnt pay.
Fook Sim: *grins* really la i havent paid yet.
Angeline: Cannot be la! U bluffing la.
Fook Sim: Dont believe! Come la we go out. Loser give 5 bucks ah!
Angeline and me: OKAY!

The 3 of us started heading to the enterance. I noticed Fook sim was walking slower and grinning

Fook Sim: EH u sure u still wanna go out ah? Come la turn back la
Angeline and me: *confidently* YES! Confirm you havent pay one!!

And then fook sim went to the counter and betul betul paid for the buffet... Lousy fella.. Kena conned

So we continued our dinner la. And towards the end of the dinner, Daniel Loo started telling jokes. Here's one of them

I tell you, it was so lame that it started to sound funny. And the best thing is that there are part 2 and part 3 which are.. equally funny.

You know, wierdest things can happen when 2-3 home group leaders are gathered. This time 4 of us are gathered. So you can roughly imagine or forsee that something is bound to happen la. And it did. And it involves Nicholas.. which is just.. wrong. Watch!

First and foremost, this video is complied and produced by Kam Fwei. Our talented video editor *applause*

The bet was for him to take the whole box of coconuts from the bar counter at the back to the table for 5 bucks from the each of us. He really did it. Lol. 25 bucks already the fella untung. But i tell you, when he took the box of coconuts from the bar counter, the workers were shouting "oi oi!" And 3 guys went after him from behind. But fook sim and i were blocking them. It was so funny that when he reached our table, practically half the people in the restaurant were staring and laughing. The punch line of the whole thing was when nick said to the workers

"Eh sorry, saya terambil"

If Im one of the workers, I would be flabbergasted to hear that reply. LOL. I tell you, I think from that time onwards, people who walked pass our tables would be looking at us one kind already.

Another crazy thing we wanted to do was to collect as many coconuts to fill the table. Whenever the workers wanted to clear our coconuts ( this sounds wrong.. anyway), we would stop them. "eh eh! jangan ambil ini!" But there was one time when we all left the table and when we came back, about 15 of the coconuts were cleared. So these were all that was left

Alot of coconuts

These are the coconuts that are left, imagine if the waitress hadn't cleared the earlier ones..

And soon after that, nicholas started being creative. He tried building a coconut castle.

Overall, I can say that its money well spent. Its been awhile since I had such a fulfilling meal. The food and company are excellent. We definitely had fun. This bunch of people are just really funny. Every single one of them.

Taken by Jogoya employee

You know, normally during a buffet, we secretly observe to see who can eat the most, and the champion eater for tonight was none other than..

I may be smiling, but Dont you dare think about it. Its mine!

We came home satisfied. But I got sick the next day.. i hope its not because of the food..

But I can be sure that there will be a 2nd time for me to this place

Memories, Tamiya

I don't know about most of you, but I still remember the days when I was madly addicted to my Tamiya car. For those who aren't familiar with this car (I assume most of them are girls), during my much younger days it was the 'in' thing for guys! its a car where we can modify to race with other.

I remember those days where I would save up every little cent I have to buy the latest kit for my car to let it go faster, hug curves better, look better and all the works. I tell you every guy was so crazy about it, we even have our very own tool box! Yah! just like the construction workers! And we are darn proud of it!

Tamiya car 'unmodiffied'

And i tell you, those days, those modification parts are so expensive! It ranges from around RM10-RM30 for some ridiculously small parts which barely cost 50 cents to fabricate! Talk about cheating kids like me! But I still buy them.

Hyper dash 2. During my time, Hyper Dash 1 was the in thing. Without it, your car isn't worthy to compete. Mine has it! I recall paying RM24 for it, surprisingly

Those days, my partner whom I race with was Justin. We were always competing (even up to now la). Normally we would go race our cars on Sunday evenings because every Sunday afternoon, his dad would bring us go swimming. And the only race track in town was in Plaza Ampang City! Yup at the ground floor.

Race track in Ampang City

Notice that on the track, there is this bridge where it links the inner and the outer lane? Well, this is the tricky part. Cars normally fly off here. If your car is too fast without the proper rollers, it'll definitely fly off here and also at the corners.

Modified tamiya cars

There was this one time where I was sitting at the corner of the track. I saw this kid putting his car in, as it turns, it flips and its wheel came off. For 'experienced' tamiya-ers, we know that we have to put bearings before we fit the wheels. Anyway, his bearing flew off (I spotted it was an expensive one) and it landed in front of me. He came searching for it.

Being a naughty kid, I pretended to look for it and then I said I didnt know where was it. He continued searching and finally gave up. Lol so when he wasn't looking, I secretly took it and used it on my car (terrible I tell you).

Check out some of the modified cars

Another basic modification is to replace the original rubber wheels to sponge wheels. Why do change it? Well, the rubber wheels are heavy and have lots of friction whereas the sponge one is very much lighter. I dont remember how I thought of it, but I wanted to cut the sponge wheel into half the width to further improve the performance. Which means, even lighter!

Justin offered to do it for me in the car on the way to the swimming pool. Using a blade, he cut it. But, somehow he accidentally cut his finger. It was quite deep. Blood was oozing out. Remember that we were very young at that time. I dont remember how old exactly. Oliver, if you roughly remember when u started playing, it should be the same as mine also. When ah? Things we do as kids are just so.. weird

I remember my car's model. It was Dyna Storm or something. It was dark blue. Sadly, I must have thrown it away.. I cant seem to find it anywhere. Well, those days are now gone, now im still doing modifications.. on my real car. But things are now in terms of hundreds.. Kids will just be kids

How Ive been

First and foremost, I wanna apologize for not updating my blog as often as I did for the past weeks. Actually the main reason behind it is because I started my new job beginning of this week.

Im still getting a hang of this new environment. Well, let me describe my new job. Firstly, it is a semiconductor factory in Ulu Klang, near UKRC where most of us youth play football there every Sunday (except me lah he he he!) Im an engineer in this company and I just started my 'real' work today ( tell you more after this)

The good thing about this company is that, it is NEAR! and comparatively to both my previous companies, this is like 1/5 of the journey (Oliver is gonna start pulling his hair right about now). It takes me about 15-20mins to get to work!

So far, for the one week, I've been in orientation up to yesterday (Thursday). I had to listen to seminars, talks, and I had to take tests! I thought I'd never have to take anymore tests. The other guy said, "Long time haven't felt like this since Uni Ha Ha" So like that lah, everyday classes. So today I was assigned to a project and I enjoy my project. Got motivation!

Another motivation is that, I work 5 days a week and, on Fridays my work ends at 4.30pm! (now most working folks will want to pull my hair right about now). So I get to skip all the hectic Friday jams( I had enough of them). Thats also why I can update my blog now :)

Anyways, before all of us pull out all our hair, let me talk about something else.

Just the other day, I went to Justin Yap (senior) house to meet up for dinner for Bernard's farewell. Then outside, I spotted 2 baby birds at the side of the road. Shivering. It was raining earlier and I guess it must have fell off from its nest. I tried stroking them but they look terrified. I thought I'll just leave them as they are. Then Sher-Mayne said, "Last time Justin and I tried to save one baby sparow also by trying to put it back to its nest. But somehow the other birds pushed it out from the nest because the baby sparow had the human scent already"

DIE!!! I touched both of them! Then I thought, okla! save one la. So, found a container, put some tissue paper and tucked him in. Then we all went for dinner. The baby bird was left in the car. Warm mah!

After dinner, back in Justin's house, we tried feeding it maggi noodles cos it looks like worms. But the fella didnt want to eat it. Instead, by saying thanks, it pooped on my hand!

Boiling the 'worms'

I tell you it was so tough getting that little thing to eat. Probably also it was very scared lar.

Good thing this humongous poo didnt kena me

We manage to get a video of me at my lame attempt at trying to feed that little bird.

It still refuses to eat. I was worried that it may die when I leave it at home while im at work. Since no one else also can take care of it, I had to leave it outside and hopefully its mom will come save it. By the way, internet said that the human scent thing is just a myth. And that we should leave the birds alone whenever this happens cos its mom will come save them.

I wonder how the bird is doing now. Oh, before going for dinner, I actually named it... Birdy

Sad tale of my car

As the title says, this is a really sad story for me from all the unfortunate events during this whole week.

Wednesday. Dad and bro went to watch a movie. So my mom and I had take dinner on our own. I drove and we decided to goto Watan to a roadside chinese stall. When we were reaching the place, we saw pasar malam. Crap, which means that the stall would be closed. Lousy pasar malam would occupy the road, leaving no place for the stall.

So, we had to turn back. In order to turn back, I had to do a 3-point-turn. So okay lah! no problem. As I went for the first point, driving slowly I heard.. crocccck!! It came from my car's front skirt. Reversed to check..crocccck!! again! I rushed out to check... it had crack all the way down. Argh! my skirting!! And the thing that broke it was a rock a size of a football! I didnt see it. Two pieces of my skirting dangling at my car bumper now. Then, I thought nevermind la, after dinner I'll use super glue or something to patch them back.

We then headed to another place for dinner and when we got back home, to my horror I saw that one part of the skirting had fell off somewhere while I was driving! gone! how to stick them back?? I didnt think it could fall off! Now my car looks weird. Like Boh-Geh (hokkien: no teeth) like that.

Boh-Geh car

Just my luck. But this is just one of it. The second part is, for the past 1-2 weeks, my car has been producing this annoying noise "wrrroooonnnggg" whenever I drive past 40km/h. The loudness will increase with speed and so it is especially loud when I hit the highways. Imagine, its so loud it sounded like I changed my exhaust!

The third thing is, my Proton's superior power window died. On the driver's side. You know, I had always laughed at people who had to open their door to pay toll and how they had to twist and turn their arms to reach the toll collector's hand... I had to do it now and so I always go for the last toll booth so people dont catch me opening my door and perform snake-like moves with my arm. ugh..

So I planned to take my car to repair it on Friday since i wasn't working on that day. Brought my car to the Proton Service Center in Taman Kosas and mentioned about the power window and noise. My dad had earlier said that it could be the wheel bearings that caused the noise. Told the mechanic about the problem and he suspected that it was from the front wheels. The checked the bearings and suspension but couldnt find any problem. But as for the power window, it was a faulty switch and they replaced it. Good! no more snake arms!

The mechanic said that it must be the tyres causing the noise, and mentioned that it could be the alignment and all and advised me to goto a tyre shop. So, I went and took the tyre mechanic for a spin to let him hear the noise. Straight away he found out that it was the back wheel's bearings making the noise. Nonsense! So, I went back to the service center and told them. So finally they changed the bearings at the back. Wasted my time only.

My car in their mercy

It cost me RM100! crap! I thought if it was cheap, I could replace my skirting which would be around 100 plus. Sigh. Not a chance now..

My poor car will be Boh-Geh for another month.. I, on the other hand will be Boh-Bin ( No face)
